For Military Monday this week we thought we would bring you a post about our nation’s most lethal warriors, US Navy SEALS, and then follow it up with a post on how one of them was honored recently by both President Trump and SIG SAUER.
SIG SAUER announced the production and presentation of a commemorative P226, the civilian version of the MK25 carried by Navy SEALS to Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Command Master Chief Britt Slabinski and the releae of a short documentary titled “For Service As Set Forth: The Story of CMC Britt Slabinski, Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient.” Master Chief Slabinski was awarded the Medal of Honor on May 24, 2018 by President Donald Trump for his actions during the Battle of Takur Ghar in Afghanistan where he rallied his teammates to rescue a stranded member who had fallen from their helicopter after it was hit by enemy fire.
The right side of the gun is engraved with his rank and name, “CMC Britt Slabinski” and the words “For service as set forth,” which are the first words in his Medal of Honor citation. The gun has gorgeous black walnut grips and on the right side is embedded the logo of his Navy SEAL team.
The left side of the gun is engraved with the words “No Day Shall Erase You from the Memory of Time,” which are the words displayed at the World Trade Center Memorial, with a Navy SEAL trident in the grips.
The top slide is engraved with six stars for his SEAL team and the likeness of the Medal of Honor, all engraved on a piece of metal from the World Trade Center.
This is a beautiful pistol, more than worthy to be presented to one of our nation’s heroes. Congratulations to Mr. Slabinski, and thank you for your service.
