Our country, nation, and way of life are the best in human history because of the men and women in our military. While the ones currently serving are active duty and we love them, Veteran’s Day is specifically meant to honor those who served in yesterday’s wars.
Technically, those currently serving are also Veterans so we’ll show them some love as well, especially on pictures like this one below that clearly demonstrate what it is that is their biggest sacrifice: time away from the family.
We just celebrated the 75th anniversary of D-Day when the US led a full scale surprise invasion of Normandy. Many of these heroes have since passed so be sure to hug and thank the ones that are left if you’re lucky enough to meet one. And any tribute to the military is incomplete if we don’t pay homage to those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom. Pray for their families and thank them too in this day of recognition.
Our most popular post ever was on Navy Corpsmen. Whether being the only medically trained personnel onboard ships far away from shore, or being shot at while with Marine Corps units, these men and women are the absolute bravest our nation has to offer. Click on any of the images below for a full page dedicated to these heroes.
Our current Active Duty normally get this day off of work. They’ll likely be celebrating – and they deserve it. Make sure you thank them for their service if you see them around town.
